Riyaz Bashir, M.D.
Riyaz Bashir, MD is Director of Vascular and Endovascular Medicine for the Department of Medicine in the Section of Cardiology at Temple University Hospital, and Associate Professor of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Bashir received his medical degree from the University of Kashmir Government Medical College in Srinagar, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at SUNY at Stony Brook, Nassau University Medical Center; his post-doctoral fellowships in cardiology and vascular/endovascular medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, St. Elizabeth's Medical Center; and his fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Bashir has been the principal investigator for several clinical trials involving carotid stenting, renovascular hypertension, and gene/cell therapy for treatment of peripheral vascular disease. |
